#309 - Seth Shykes (Glass Artist, Pendants)

Seth is a glass artist out in Minnesota who goes by the name "Mythic Glass" specializing in pop culture items. Working a lot with making unique pendants that reference things from pop culture such as Pokemon, Dragon ball z and many others that some of the 90's kids were used to seeing on TV. Creating a pendant or design using a reference from our past helps people look at a piece deeper finding a connection or lost memory bringing them back to a certain moment in time. From learning all he can by other artists and trying to find his own unique style, his goal is to travel to help him find more influences and learn through the process of watching to enhance is glassblowing ability.

#308 - Abdalla Albeely (Ph.D, Molecular and Cellular Biology)

Abdalla is a mental health advocate from his work and research in molecular and cellular biology and focusing on neuroscience of how the brain functions. Neurochemistry is one thing that is really hard to understand whether its genetic or environmental so many factors can cause a person to like or dislike something. In this world we are more connected but less connected than ever, relying on interaction through devices which gives a false connection with the initial stimulus our brain needs fro face to face interaction. Natural conversation can help change the direction in the world where mental health is dramatically increasing as our phone and data network expands.

#307 - Nik Denison (Artist/Alchemist, Glassblowing)

Nik has been creating designs and manipulating glass for three years in St.Louis MO,. Specializing and fascinated by geometric patterns and the complexity behind them that he incorporates in his work with pipes, marbles and other ideas. From teaching other people this form of art that gets a bit stigmatized when it comes to the industry associated its been around for thousands of years and one creative work. Turning this form of art into not only a thing of beauty but a form of meditation that can create and manifest a passion.

#306 - Mohit Aery (Hemp Educator and Advocate)

Mohit is the owner of "Hempistani" an educational site promoting the benefits of Hemp and how its been treated so corrupt in today's society until recently getting notice. Hempistani was developed from the minds of 3 entrepreneurs who believe in disrupting the hemp industry by removing the stigma around it through greater awareness about its benefits and providing consumers a reliable marketplace for ethically sourced hemp-based products. The extensive research into the non-psychoactive aspects of hemp has led to the discovery of various products that meet the everyday needs of consumers worldwide. From CBD oil for pain relief to bio-fuel, this miraculous plant can clothe, feed, heal, transport, and house people….and we hope that’s just the beginning. Mohit is traveling and trying to show people the best alternative compared to most modern medications prescribed.

#305 - Khalil Saeed (Private Chef)

Khalil works as a private chef specializing in table foods and farm raised products residing in Charlotte. When it comes to cooking or food most people develop a love or unhealthy obsession seems like it stems from the idea of living the best perfect life whether it comes to eating too healthy or eating too poorly. Life has a balance and sometimes its difficult to find being involved on the industry Khalil finds that creating and changing recipes and lifestyles can create something new that the passion for cooking has inspired to be.

#304 - Tres Denk (Tattoo Artist, Community Builder)

Tres is a tattoo artist and local community builder being involved with people from his job to his hobbies. From establishing art on someones skin that they will carry forever and either mark a new journey or just an art piece they admire he also builds bike trails and programs to help establish safer and effective way of community building in the form of cycling. Starting off conceived in a 1960 impala during the race riots of Baltimore in 1968 to moving to Shrewsbury PA, then moving to Ocean City Maryland has admired and respected people and the amount of work he does to give back to the place and people he lives around.

#303 - Siobhán MacArdle (Student, "PhD. Chemistry of Metalloproteins")

Siobhán is a PhD. student studying at Caltech for chemistry of Metalloproteins which is a generic term for a protein that contains a metal ion cofactor. So many things come into the making of everyday life and with this thought she finds her fascination of exploring things to a more molecular level. Especially when it comes to wine being able to understand its process and value and the form of chemistry known as Wine Chemistry can help create it and perfect a wine using a scientific process.

#302 - Erik Ostrum (Entomologist)

Erik is interested in and studying the things most people have trouble even looking at and its called Entomology the study of insects and their roles in our environment and crucial part of our survival. People complain about bugs and why do they even exist but upon further research a lot of how our planet continues to move forward environmentally is contributed by insects, they may be small and we consider them a pest but if all of them were gone where would we be.

#301 - Beau Floyd (Chef/Owner, "Food.Bar.Food")

Beau Floyd is a chef and owner of a restaurant in Harrisonburg,VA called "Food.Bar.Food" that specializes on giving a traditional american style but not afraid of diving to other cultures to create an appetizing meal. Beau has worked in the industry from starting at BK too working in many different spots cultivating experience and harboring a passion for the creative concept of food in general. Much goes into creating a experience or memory at a restaurant whether its the atmosphere or the taste of food, from working the bottom to the top accumulating all this experience helps focus in on the essential workings of a restaurant and creating an amazing experience.

#300 - Robert Jenkins (Student, "Organic Chemistry")

Robert (Roby) has taken all of the available chemistry courses at MJC excluding Chem 144. Earned his AS in chemistry from MJC and cannot wait to attend UCSC Fall 2018. Viewing chemistry as a giant puzzle with several ways of putting it together from creating new compounds to understanding how things are formed or bonded and it's processes. Not only working for his school but helping other students obtain academic success where they might need assistance with coursework and tutoring bringing the science community or the passion to pursue it in everyone because it really gets fascinating when you understand more about how things work and react.
